Steven B. Roby

MemberSteven Roby, a native of Detroit, Michigan, emphasizes the practice of U.S. immigration and nationality law. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College majoring in Philosophy and English and a Juris Doctor (law) degree from the University of Detroit.
Prior to his American law education, he studied Law and Philosophy at the Universitaet Muenster in Germany; International Private Law in The Hague, Netherlands; and passed the Universidad de Madrid Complutense intermediate level Language/Humanities course in Madrid, Spain. He enjoys speaking and reading German and Spanish.
Currently he is admitted as an attorney in the State of Michigan. He is authorized to practice law before two U.S. District Courts in Michigan; the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio; and the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Roby has argued cases before the Board of Immigration Appeals (EOIR, U.S. Justice Department) and the Board of Appellate Review (U.S. State Department). He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He was an adjunct Professor at Thomas Cooley Law School (Auburn Hills Campus 2008 – 2011, Ann Arbor Campus 2011 – 2012). Mr. Roby enjoys speaking and lecturing in public fora about U.S. Immigration subjects from time to time. He has written several articles on immigration law for local legal and news publications.
Mr. Roby offers knowledge and experience in immigration and nationality matters and is proud to represent a diverse business clientele in a broad range of administrative immigration, citizenship and naturalization cases.

Anthony M. Roby

MemberA dual citizen of the United States and Spain, Anthony Roby’s practice is devoted exclusively to U.S. immigration and nationality law, primarily corporate and industrial employment based immigration matters. He represents automotive, aircraft, industrial steel, engineering, design, and medical service companies before the U.S. Departments of State, Labor, and Homeland Security. He is also an expert in identifying and analyzing the immigration consequences associated with specific criminal arrests, convictions, or conduct – sometimes referred to as “crimmigration.” In addition, Anthony represents clients in administrative appellate litigation before the Executive Office for Immigration Review’s Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Administrative Appeals Office, and the Department of Labor’s Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals.
In December 2007, Anthony earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Thereafter, he attended law school at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in May 2011. He was admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan in October 2011.
Today, in addition to the state trial, intermediate appellate, and supreme courts, Anthony is authorized to practice law before two U.S. Federal District Courts in Michigan, as well as the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also registered with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review and authorized to appear as an attorney before its various immigration tribunals.

Mr. Da Via is an accomplished senior-level attorney holding over nine years of progressive experience as an immigration law practitioner. His practice areas span virtually all facets of U.S. immigration law, focusing primarily on complex business and high-skill nonimmigrant visa cases. With a meticulous attention to detail, high degree of creativity, and a deep comprehension of automotive industry topics (from research, development, and engineering to industrialization, series production, supply chain and beyond), Mr. Da Via has a track record of consistently winning even the most challenging and novel cases at all levels of USCIS and CBP adjudication.

Mr. Da Via’s Personal Immigration Connection
· Mr. Da Via’s paternal grandfather, as a young child, immigrated with his family from the Province of Belluno, Italy in the 1920s to Detroit, Michigan. Prior thereto, his father came to the United States temporarily at age 17 to work in the coal mines of Pennsylvania before returning to Italy.
Mr. Da Via’s paternal grandmother’s mother and father immigrated from Sicily and the Province of Frosinone, respectively, as adults in the 1910s to New York, New York, and then moved to Detroit, Michigan.
